Neutrino Update

The latest results from OPERA warranted a comment at Turtle Island, but of course Google would not allow it. (I have been attempting for months to get my Google account verified, but whoever is in charge of it won’t let that happen). Anyway, as far as I can tell from their exclusion plots, they have not definitely excluded the 1eV sterile. Only a less likely candidate.

Request to White Hats

As far as I can tell, no one has dug up the hot and sexy website that is leading people to this blog. Could some good white hat warrior please figure out what criminal nonsense is out there using my name. I have never, never, never authorised the use of naked images of me anywhere.

Orwell’s Government

Idiots at WINZ

The reason I never filled out the Circumstance Review form before April 4 is that I never received the form. Just like I never received the allegedly unrelated similar form the week that I moved into my last place in similar circumstances, back in 2014. I am curious to know where you actually sent the form, if you sent it at all, which you probably didn’t. Because I would not have received it wherever you sent it, which you should probably know given how many years you have been dealing with my housing situation. After all, you dealt with my new lease only days ago. And when I was in your Sydenham office just last week, why did you not mention the precious form? Funny how that works, no?

Quantum Gravity Lesson 38

Every math undergraduate loves their torus, with the 18 triangles needed to compute homology. With quantum cubes, we automatically label axes discretely with powers of a letter.

So when does a square include a 2-cell? Look at the bottom left square.

A category theorist will immediately see that this is a limit diagram for the product of X and Y. But the square defined by the generator of H1 does not yield a nice square, although it does commute.
